The Heritage Christian Academy Warriors very nearly pulled this one out of the fire. Trailing 9-3 going into the bottom of the 6th innings, the Warriors scored five times but just could not get that one additional run across the plate as they fell to the Fort Campbell Falcons 9-8 in a preview of Saturday’s 8th District tournament game between the two teams.
Ethan Miles singled with two outs to drive in Caden Greshman to make it a one-run ballgame in the final inning. The hit also put the tying run on third base and the winning run on second base.
Falcon pitcher Adam Harrington was able to get out of the jam and lock up the win when he got Jayden Nichols to fly out to left for the final out.
The Falcons had appeared to be in control of this one from early on. The Falcons scored two in the second and four in the top of the fourth to take a 6-0 lead.
HCA rallied to score three in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead in half and grab a little momentum.
The Falcons would score what turned out to be three critical runs in the top of the 6th to extend their lead back out to 9-3. The big blow in the inning was an RBI double from John Arnold.

Caden Gresham, Bradley Boyd, and Ethan Miles had two hits each for the Warriors.
