
The Fort Campbell softball team earned its third straight victory against 8th-District rivals Hopkinsville on Monday, pushing 11 runs across in the first inning on the way to a 15-0 victory.
Amar’e Moore held the Lady Tigers to only two hits, striking out six with three walks in three innings. The Lady Falcons staked Moore to a lead in the top of the first, with RBI doubles by Hailey Herron and Jordan Wilkerson highlighting their first at-bat.
The Lady Falcons tacked on four more runs in the second on inside-the-park home runs by Amar’e Moore, Avaley Moore, and Herron to cap the scoring.
Elaina Chaudoin took the loss for the Lady Tigers, allowing eight earned runs on seven hits with five walks and four strikeouts. Chaudoin also had a hit along with Raliegh Alder.
Herron had two hits and drove in three runs for the Lady Falcons, followed by Wilkerson with a pair of hits and two RBI. Avaley Moore drove in two and Amar’e Moore finished with two hits and an RBI.
Fort Campbell snapped a six-game skid to improve to 6-13 ahead of a trip to University Heights Academy on Thursday.
