Despite missing some key team members due to injury, the Hopkinsville High track and field team finished in fourth place at Saturday’s Class 2A Region 1 meet at Paducah Tilghman.
The Tigers took first place in a pair of individual events – both by Ian Rosario – and a relay event. Hoptown automatically qualified for the state meet in four events by virtue of first and second-place finishes. Several others will play a wait-and-see game to see if they gain at large bids based on their time or distance on Saturday.
Paducah Tilghman won the region title with 133 points, while Calloway County was the runner-up with 100 points. Hopkinsville was fourth with 77 points.
