With an All A Classic state softball championship already on its 2024 resume, the Livingston Central Lady Cardinals are forging a path to a region championship and a trip to the state tournament.
They took their first step on Wednesday with a 3-0 win over Trigg County to claim their second district title in three seasons. The victory was also Livingston’s 31st of the season against four losses.
Seventh grader Addison Tramble navigated in and out of trouble with the deftness of a cat burglar in improving her record to 17-3.
Trigg County was able to put a runner in scoring position four times after the second inning. In both the third and fourth innings, it was a runner at third with one out and Tramble pitched out of trouble.

In the sixth and seventh innings, it was a runner at second base with two outs with the same result.
At the plate, it was Tramble who scored Livingston’s first run of the game. She singled to center in the first inning and advanced to second base on a passed ball. Hadley Hargrove singled her home for the quick 1-0 lead.
The game was a pitcher’s duel between Tramble and Trigg County freshman Tember Oliver, who didn’t allow another run until the sixth inning. She scattered eight hits and struck out five while not issuing a walk.
With two outs in the sixth, Livingston added a pair of insurance runs when Emersyn Ramage singled and scored on a triple by Eden Campanella. A passed ball then plated Campanella for the 3-0 lead.
Trigg County rallied in the top of the seventh inning with two outs. Livia Breckel worked a brilliant 16-pitch walk that included 11 foul balls. Veyda Grinols followed with a bloop single. However, the rally and the game ended with an infield popout.

Livingston Central doubled up the hits on Trigg 8-4. Campanella was the lone Lady Cardinal with multiple hits and had the only extra-base hit.
Trigg got doubles from Kady Fuller and Breckel.
Livingston Central’s win was its eighth straight against Trigg dating back to 2019 and denied the Lady Wildcats their first district championship.
Both teams advance to next week’s region tournament at Christian County High School. Trigg County (19-16) will play Henderson County, Madisonville, or Christian County in the first round.
Livingston Central (31-4) will play Union County, Caldwell County, or University Heights Academy in its opener.
