The University Heights Academy Lady Blazers had one team reach the medal podium and another miss by a second at Thursday’s Clark’s Pump N Shop Class 1A State Track and Field Meet in Lexington.
The 1600-meter relay team of Emma Dill, Audrey Grise, Kendall Hancock, and Skylar Cantrell finished in eighth place with a season-best time of 4:22.46.
The 800-meter relay team of Ajae Oatts, Audrey Grise, Alyssa Grise, and Kendall Hancock was ninth in 1:51.34, missing a medal by 1.06 seconds. Their time was a season-best and the third-fastest in school history by less than two seconds.
The 3200-meter relay team of Skylar Cantrell, Kendall Hancock, Audrey Grise, and Emma Dill came in 12th place in a season-best effort of 10:54.57.
Cantrell, the school record holder in the 800 meters, was 14th on Thursday with a time of 2:35.24.
Emma Dill was 23rd in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.35 seconds and 20th in the 300-meter hurdles in 51.20 seconds.
