
It’s been a year of awards for Fort Campbell seventh grader Emmie Underwood, who reached the medal podium twice at Thursday’s Clark’s Pump N Shop Class 1A State Track and Field Meet.
Underwood, the Class 1A state cross country champion, finished second in the 3200-meter run in 11:41.28 – the third fastest time in program history. She set the new mark earlier this year.
She also finished in sixth place in the 1600-meter run with a personal best time of 5:24.79.
Underwood’s time at Fort Campbell will be comet-like as a family move off post will see her attending high school and competing in Tennessee next year.
One other podium trip was made by the 400-meter relay team of Lillianah Dewitt, Chanelle Fobbs, Zyaziah Langley, and Jerni Hicks, who finished fourth in 51.24 seconds.
Ava Roberts was 11th in the pole vault with a personal best height of 7-6.
Lillianah Dewitt was 11th in the 200-meter dash in 27.33 seconds.
Rosella Rajj was 14th in the triple jump at 30-11.50 and was 15th in the high jump at 4-6.
Chanelle Fobbs was 18th in the 100-meter dash in 13.39 seconds
Jerni Hicks was 19th in the 100-meter dash in 13.70 seconds
Zyaziah Langley was 19th in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.34.
The 3200-meter relay team of Emmie Underwood, Ava Roberts, A’Mya Vincente, and Grace Stultz was 16th in 11:03.74.
The 800-meter relay team of Lillianah Dewitt, Chanelle Fobbs, Zyaziah Langley, and Desirae Ramnarian came in 12th place in 1:52.40.
The 1600-meter relay team of Lillianah Dewitt, Chanelle Fobbs, Zyaziah Langley, and Rosella Rajj was 14th in 4:32.28.
In the team standings, Fort Campbell finished in 14th place with 16 points.
