Caldwell County head coach Josh Young was recognized Wednesday night in Hopkinsville as the 2nd Region Coach of the Year.
Young was acknowledged on the field following the championship game of the regional tournament.
Young, in just his second season as a head coach, guided the Tigers to a 27-7 record in 2024. That was the second-most wins in school history — trailing only the 2016 team.
Young was a senior at Caldwell on that 2016 squad which went 31-6 while winning the 2nd Region championship before falling to Scott County 1-0 in eight innings at the state tournament.
In two seasons as head coach at Caldwell, Young has compiled a record of 46 wins and 19 losses.
The Tigers won the 7th District championship this season before falling to eventual champion Hopkinsville in the first round of the regional tournament.
The award is determined by 2nd Region coaches.
Lyon County’s Eli Baker was recognized as 2nd Region Player of the Year.
