The second fundraising golf scramble in memory of former Centre College golf coach David Jones will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Old Bridge Golf Club in Danville.
Jones passed unexpectedly in September of 2022. Jones, a 2011 graduate of Western Kentucky University, became the Centre College golf coach in 2019 after briefly serving as interim coach in 2016. He was assistant coach from 2014 to 2016.
Jones joined Center in 2013 and had various duties from equipment manager to associate director of athletic facilities and operations.
He was a beloved figure and mentor on the Centre College campus, a man who never seemed to stop smiling.
Jones was survived by his wife, Kotey, and three children Kinzley, Kevin and Kyndall.

Kindly will be playing in the scramble in a group with Centre professor Dr. Jeff Heath, Centre golf Grey Goodwin and one other Centre golfer.
Cost is $125 per player, payable day of the tournament, and will include lunch at 11:30 a.m. at Old Bridge.
If anyone simply wishes to sponsor the tournament and contribute directly to the family, they can mail a check payable to “Kinzley Jones” to Todd Goodwin, 1611 Shelby Grave, Mt. Juliet, TN, 37122, or bring it to the course on Saturday.
Golfers can email entries to Jay Hoffman at jay.hoffman@centre.edu.
All proceeds from the event go directly to the Jones family.
