Kentucky baseball is headed to the College World Series for the first time in school history.
Nick Mingione and his team beat Oregon State 10-0 and 3-2 in a sold-out Lexington Super Regional to earn the right to advance.
While Saturday night’s game was more of a breeze, Kentucky had to work hard Saturday night to hold off a winner-take-all Game 3 on Monday night.
The Wildcats scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning thanks to stellar base running by Nolan McCarthy.
After taking the lead, Kentucky’s pitching staff was nearly perfect to close out the game in the bottom of the ninth.
The College World Series will begin on Friday. In the meantime, here are lots of photos from Sunday night’s win.
