If you ever had the opportunity to see Christian County’s Camryn Armstrong play on the volleyball court, you knew she excelled on the field of athletic competition. But, on the court is not the only place this young lady, and member of the Class of 2024, succeeds and that is why she is another of the outstanding young people to be recognized as a Chick-fil-A ‘Triple-A.’
Speaking of her volleyball skills, during her senior season, Camryn was named All-District and All-Region for her play for the Christian County Lady Colonels.
Camryn had it down in the classroom. During her senior year, she was on the Principal’s List and was twice named Student of the Month. She was an AP student and was taking dual credit classes. With her great work in the classroom, she was a member of the National Honor Society at Christian County.
By the end of the year, Camryn was an honors graduate, walking across the stage with a 3.9 GPA and ranked 14th in her graduating class. Now that is impressive in its own right, but there is much more to this young lady.
Camryn was also extensively involved in the school community at Christian County High School. She had a leadership role in the school’s Key Club. Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership. High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing, and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects, and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district, and international levels.
She also provided leadership in BETA. BETA is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America, which for more than 80 years, has prepared today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders. Beta’s goal is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
Camryn was also involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Yearbook Staff, the Prom Committee, the Art Club, and the World Language Club.
She has been very active in service through her school clubs and other means. Through the Key Club, Camryn volunteered at the Pembroke Elementary School Fall Festival.
During her time in the Art Club, she helped to paint a mural at the Hopkinsville YMCA and participated in the annual Festival of Trees.
Camryn has given to her community by ringing the bell for the Salvation Army during the Christmas season and represented Christian County High School at a recent women’s conference at The Silo.
She has also been a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church since 2014.
As for her future, Camryn says she will be attending Hopkinsville Community College this fall but is still unsure about a career path at this point. She added, “I am forever grateful for all of the teachers and staff that have helped me along the way and led me to want to achieve great things in my life.”
There are sure to be great things for this young lady ahead, and that is part of what makes Camryn Armstrong the latest Chick-fil-A ‘Triple-A.’
