This week’s Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ for the week of June 3 is Hopkinsville High School’s Lucas Kaetzel. Lucas was selected based on his performance in the Tigers’ 5-0 win over Estill County in the opening round of the state baseball tournament in Lexington.
He finished the game 2-4 at the plate. That effort included a rocket-shot home run to left that extended the Hopkinsville lead over the Engineers to 5-0. Lucas also had 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored as the Tigers reached the quarterfinal round of the state tournament.
The Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ is selected each week from one of the five schools in Christian County (Christian County, Hopkinsville, University Heights, Christian County, and Fort Campbell) based on their performance in a big game or event for their team that week.
