With high school sports about two enter the two-week ‘dead period’, the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons got in some summer work against some top-level competition over the weekend. The Maroons were among the teams taking part in the KABC Titans Shootout.
The Maroons took to the court for the first time Saturday afternoon against Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. The Maroons would end up dropping a 50-39 decision.
Madisonville came back later Saturday to face Preble Shawnee (OH). This one went the Maroons way with a 52-44 decision.
The Maroons got back to the court Sunday and squared off against Caverna. This one was all Colonels as Caverna took an 80-51 win.
