Dawson Springs had two athletes and two relay teams named to the Boys All-Area 1 track and field teams.
Freshman Easton Bourland was named to the Class 1A All-Area First Team in both the 800 and 1600-meter run. Bourland was the region champion in the 800 and placed ninth at the state meet with a new school record time. He finished in second place in the region in the 1600-meter run.
Deacon Dever was named to the Class 1A All-Area First Team in the 3200-meter run. He was second at the region and 16th at the Class 1A State Meet, setting a new school mark.
The 3200-meter relay team of Easton Bourland, Lucas Osborne, Deacon Dever, and Montgomery Johnston earned a medal at the Class 1A State Meet with a seventh-place finish in 8:40.70 – second fastest in program history. They were named All-Area 1 for all classes.
The 1600-meter relay team also received Class 1A All-Area Second Team honors.
