Kentucky tight end Josh Kattus enjoyed meeting a Power Ranger in Ashland.
Tight end Josh Kattus plans to be one of 40 plus University of Kentucky football players attending The 15 Club BBQ at Masterson Station Park in Lexington July 13 from 2-5 p.m. The event is open to all 15 Club members and their families and there will be food and games along with chances for fans to interact with players.
Kattus enjoys events like this and was part of one Club 15 did in Ashland that included a visit with children from a local hospital.
“I spend a lot of time at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital with (offensive lineman Marques Cox). Doing that means a lot when you can help kids. It was nice to see all those kids in Ashland who might see us on TV but never have had a chance to interact with us.”
However, Kattus also got to interact with a couple of different folks.
“Everyone was nice at the fan event in Ashland but I got a picture with a 6-4 female Power Ranger,” Kattus said on WLAP Sunday Morning Sports. “She was just hanging around waiting for us. It was a lot of fun.”
Kattus said the “Power Ranger” arrived early and then Spider-Man came.

“When you come across Spider-Man, you have got to get a picture,” Kattus, who also got a photo with the Power Ranger, said. “We took pictures with a lot of great fans. It started in the hotel and just kept going. We absolutely love doing things like that. If we get a chance to interact with fans, especially an event like the one coming up with great food, we are definitely going to do it.”
Kattus is hoping there will be cornhole and is confident he has the best partner.
“I am just getting into cornhole and trying to get the flick of the wrist down right,” he said. “If fans want to play (Georgia transfer quarterback) Brock Vandagriff and I, come on. He is elite (at cornhole), pickleball and all that. But he has been cornholing since he was born and is really good.”
