If her senior season is anything like her junior year, Lyon County’s Alice Smith could be poised to join some elite company during the 2024 soccer season.

Smith finished her junior year with 58 goals, which, when added to her sophomore and freshman year totals, gives her 108 for her Lady Lyon career.

The 58 goals scored in 2023 put her third on the scoring list for the season, behind only Deca Burr, of Warren East, with 62, and Autumn Sawyers, of Whitley County, with 61.

The 108 goals for her career ties her with Zoe Storm, of Calloway County, Amerah Dixon, of Corbin, and Libby Leedom, of St. Henry, on the career KHSAA list.

Should she equal her goal total from last season, she would reach 166 for her career and would move into the top 20 of all-time scorers for the state.

She also has the chance to become the top goal scorer in Lady Lyon history this season. Smith needs 12 goals to pass Jill P’Poole on the list to get second on the school list.

With 31 goals, she not only becomes the highest scorer in Lyon County history, she also becomes the highest-scoring player in her family, surpassing her sister Rose, who finished with 138 goals.
