The Fort Campbell Falcons had the best day of the area teams during pool play Friday at the annual Best of the West 7-on-7 passing tournament at the Stadium of Champions. The Falcons finished the day with a 2-2 record heading into Saturday’s double-elimination bracket competition.

The Falcons opened the day taking on the Kenwood Knights. Fort Campbell scored the first 10 points but Kenwood battled back to take a 31-12 win.

Fort Campbell rebounded from that opening loss with a solid performance against Warren Central. The Falcons picked up their first win of the day by handling the Dragons 27-13.

Up next for the Falcons was a matchup against Todd County Central, who the Falcons got past in Elkton last season. The Fort Campbell offense continued to fly high in the heat for the second straight game as the Falcons got the win 29-5.

Fort Campbell was scheduled to take on Christian County in its final game of pool play. However, due to some confusion, the Falcons ended up heading to back to post before the game and were charged with a forfeit.

With their 2-2 record from Friday, the Falcons will begin bracket play Saturday morning against the very team they should have finished their day Friday against. The Fort Campbell-Christian County game is set for 9am at the Stadium of Champions.
