The Todd County Central Rebels were not able to earn one of the first round byes for the double-elimination bracket portion of the Best of the West 7-on-7 passing tournament, which will be played beginning Saturday morning at the Stadium of Champions.
The Rebels battled through sultry weather conditions during the pool play portion of the event Friday and finished with a 1-3 record.
Todd County Central, who is looking to find a new starting quarterback in the wake of the transfer of Miles Reding during the offseason, had its struggles at times on the offensive side of the ball during the passing competition.
The Rebels began their day dropping a 15-5 decision to Warren Central, a team the Rebels beat late in the 2023 regular season.
The second game for Todd County Central found the Rebels matched up against Kenwood. This one belonged to the Knights as Kenwood rolled to a 29-4 win.
The third game of the day matched the Rebels up against Fort Campbell. The Falcons picked up a 29-5 win over Todd Central.
The Rebels were scheduled to take on James Lawson in their final game of the day Friday. However, James Lawson elected not to play in the increasingly warm conditions and the Rebels picked up a forfeit.
With the 1-3 record, Todd County Central will now open bracket play on Saturday at 9am against Clarksville Northeast. A win over Northeast would match the Rebels against Macon County while a loss would drop them into the consolation bracket.
