The Caldwell County Tiger football team got an extra bonus after practice on Friday — an inspirational message from Greg Vandagriff, who is the father of University of Kentucky starting quarterback Brock Vandagriff.

The elder Vandagriff is in Caldwell County for An Evening with Coach Greg Vandagriff Saturday night at Creswell Baptist Church. That event will begin at 6 p.m.

Vandagriff has won multiple state football championships as a head coach in Georgia. His Prince Avenue Christian School in Bogart has captured three of the last four state titles (2020, 2022 and 2023) and was runner-up in 2021. In eight seasons at the school, Vandagriff’s teams have gone 97-12.

His son, Brock, was a senior quarterback on the 2020 Prince Avenue state champions. Brock, a five-star recruit, spent three seasons with the University of Georgia Bulldogs before transferring to the University of Kentucky. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Greg Vandagriff shared a greeting from Brock to the Caldwell County Tigers on his phone during his brief presentation after practice.

On Saturday, Vandagriff will share a message about his faith, football and family at Creswell Baptist Church.

Greg and his wife, Kelly, have three children who will all play sports at Division I schools — Anna on the volleyball team at Eastern Kentucky, Brock at UK and Audrey, who is an incoming freshman, will play college softball at the University of Alabama.
