Kentucky pitcher Robert Hogan, citing his love for the school and the Big Blue Nation, announced his return on Thursday for his final season eligibility in 2025.

Hogan joins catcher Devin Burkes in announcing his plans to return for another season.

The North Oaks, Minnesota native became an integral piece of the UK pitching staff in the run to its first-ever College World Series in 2024. He was one of the Wildcats’ most trusted arms in high leverage situations as it claimed a Southeastern Conference crown and advanced to the MCWS with a perfect 5-0 record in the NCAA Regional and Super Regional.

For the season, Hogan went 1-0 with a 3.10 earned run average in 40.2 innings spread over 24 appearances. Opponents hit just .174 against him and he struck out more than a batter per inning.

Hogan was nearly untouchable in the SEC Tournament and first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, allowing no runs in 8.2 innings on just three hits versus LSU, Western Michigan and Oregon State. He earned the nickname “Bobby Spins” for his effective breaking ball and struck out eventual top overall draft pick Travis Bazzana in the Super Regional clincher against the Beavers.
