Madisonville-North Hopkins continued its stellar early-season play on the golf course on Monday.

The Maroons placed second out of 21 teams in the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club High School Invitational.

Tyler Bryan took runner-up individually with a sterling 1-under-par round of 70, which was also his personal low score.

Bryan was second in a playoff after he, West Jessamine’s Chris Kelley and Daviess County’s Grant Broughton each came in at 1-under. Broughton claimed medalist honors.

Bryan was 2-under through 14 holes before a double bogey on 15 dropped him back to even. However, he birdied the par-4 18th hole to get in the playoff.

McCracken County won the team championship with a 305.

Madisonville and Marshall County were both next at 308.

Max Clayton and Jake Witherspoon each shot 79 for the Maroons. Treyson Raymer finished at 80.

Brennan Cole carded an 84, which gave Madisonville second over Marshall, whose fifth score was 88.

The Maroons have recorded one second-place finish, two third-place showings and a fourth-place finish so far this season.

Madisonville plays again on Tuesday at the Bullitt East 2024 Charger Open at Heritage Hill Golf Course in Shepherdsville.
