
Caldwell County High School rising senior Chase Lantrip competed in a prestigious national youth bowling tournament earlier this month in Detroit.
Lantrip finished 760th out of 1,330 kids in the U18 division in the United States Bowling Congress Junior Gold Championships, which ran from July 12-20.
Competitors bowled at four different bowling centers on four different sport shots.
Lantrip earned his trip to Detroit through qualifying tournaments all over Tennessee.
The Junior Gold Championships is an annual national tournament for the top male and female youth bowlers in the United States. The tournament has six divisions – U12 Boys, U12 Girls, U15 Boys, U15 Girls, U18 Boys, U18 Girls.
