Maroons Take 2nd Place at Muhlenberg Invitational

Another big effort from the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons on the golf course Tuesday. In another day of sweltering conditions, the Maroons played their way to a second-place finish at the Muhlenberg County Invitational at the Central City Country Club.

Madisonville-North Hopkins finished with a team score of 309, just four shots behind Owensboro. Daviess County was 3rd with a 311 and Owensboro Catholic took 4th place with a 314.

Tyler Bryan continued his ‘hot’ start to the season, finishing with a round of 73, putting him in fourth place for the day.

Griffin Jackson, of Glasgow, Jackson Mayes, of Grayson County, and Zach Sloan, of Hart County, each shot a round of 72 to lead the individual competition.

Max Clayton was next for the Maroons with a score of 76.

Brennan Cole also broke the 80 mark, ending his day with a 79.

Jake Witherspoon and Treyson Raymer each shot an 81 for the day.

Up next for the Maroons is their own invitational, which will be played Thursday at Lakeshore Country Club. The day gets rolling with a shotgun start at 7:30.
