Todd County Central has turned to a former Christian County Colonel to lead its boys’ basketball program.
Walter McCombs III has been named the head coach of the Rebels following the surprise resignation of Russell Malone in the spring after a 13-16 campaign in 2023-24.
McCombs has been an AAU head coach and most recently was an assistant coach to D.G. Sherrill at Bowling Green High School.
The former Colonel, who played for Kerry Stovall at Christian County, looks to bring stability to a program that has had three coaches in the previous four seasons before McCombs’ arrival.
The school also announced that assistant coach Jonathan Williams has been named associate head coach after three seasons on the Rebels’ bench.
