A strong finish in the final round helped Emma Talley claim a Top 15 finish in the Portland Classic.
Talley birdied her final three holes on Sunday and had birdies on four of her last seven holes to finish the LPGA Tour event at 16-under-par.
That put her in a five-way tie for 14th place and earned Talley $24,605.
The Caldwell County High School grad was in contention much of the weekend. She was alone in second place at one point during Friday’s second round.
Talley was among the leaders until a triple-bogey on No. 18 in Saturday’s third round took her from 15-under to 12-under. She had either birdied or parred her first 53 holes in the tournament.
Talley finished the event with 20 birdies, one bogey and the one triple-bogey.
Moriya Jutanugarn won the tourney with a 22-under-par total on the Columbia Edgewater course.
Talley made the cut in a professional event for the fourth-straight week and has earned $56,434 over that time.
She tied for 39th the previous week in the CPKC Women’s Open in Calgary.
Two weeks ago, she tied for 29th in the Dana Open in Ohio.
Three weeks ago, Talley tied for 10th at the Hartford Healthcare Women’s Championship, an Epson Tour event in Connecticut.
