High school golfers try and take advantage of any chance to play at the Bowling Green Country Club which hosts the championship rounds of the KHSAA state tournament each year.

With Greenwood High School hosting its annual Lady Gator Invitational on Monday at the venue, 66 golfers endured the heat and fast greens to get 18 holes in at the 5,416-yard course.

Conlee Lindsey, who has played in the state tourney on the course three times, shot a 13-over par 85 to finish tied for 23rd place.

The University Heights Academy senior began 1-under through three holes before a triple-bogey 8 on No. 5 moved her over par.

She went out at 41 after consecutive bogeys on No. 8 and No. 9.

Her only birdie on the back nine came on the par 5 14th hole.

While Lindsey was a combined two-over on the par 3s and par 5s, she struggled on the par 4s where she was 11-over.

Lindsey and her Lady Blazer teammates return to play Tuesday at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club Invitational which was postponed from last week due to the heat.
