Coming into the season, Campbell Lindsey had one goal for the fall golf season.
The University Heights Academy freshman has seen her scores steadily drop over the past two years and wanted to keep her 2024 scores in the 90s. Now, she’s going to have to change her goals.
Lindsey shot an 87 on Tuesday, her best score in a high school competition. It comes less than a week after she carded an 84 and 86 at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club championship – the same course as Tuesday.
Lindsey’s round of 87 was good for a 24th-place tie. She had six pars and chipped in for birdie on No. 10.
Her older sister Conlee shot a 1-over par 37 on the back nine, including an eagle on the par 5 16th hole, to finish at five-over par. Her score was good for a seventh-place tie.
Caroline Tucker continues to take her scores lower and shot a 51 on each side of the course to tie for 42nd place.
Marshall County’s Katie Roberts shot an even-par 71 to defeat Daviess County’s Claire Reynolds and North Hardin’s AnnaMae Atcher by one shot.
