With the regular season opener coming up Monday, the University Heights Academy Blazers hit the road for their first preseason scrimmage. The Blazers scored twice in a fifteen minute span early in the second half and then held off Webster County for a 2-1 win in Dixon.
After a scoreless first half, the Blazers got on the board 3 ½ minutes into the second half when Hayden Hunt found the net to make it 1-0.
UHA extended the lead when Clayton Lester scored off an assist from Cal Givens at the 57-minute mark.
Webster County got back in the match with a goal with just over 13 minutes left in the match to cut the lead to 2-1, but that would be the end of the comeback.
For the match, the Blazers ended up outshooting the Trojans 9-4.
The Blazers will play their final preseason scrimmage Thursday when they host Todd County Central.
