After dropping a tough road scrimmage at Murray earlier in the week, the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons picked up some positive momentum to head into the start of the high school soccer season next week. The Lady Maroons hosted Calloway County in their final preseason scrimmage Thursday evening and came away with a solid 5-1 win over the Lady Lakers.
Madison Hill led the attack for the Lady Maroons with 3 goals and 2 assists. Hadley Hodges and McKinley Wilson had one goal each.
Taylor Barber and Kailey Barber chipped in with one assist each.
Kaytee Parrish had a big night in goal, coming up with 8 saves.
For the night, the Lady Maroons outshot Calloway County 20 to 14.
Madisonville now gets ready to officially open the season Monday on the road against Marshall County,
The Lady Maroons will then have a few days off before their home opener against 2nd Region foe Christian County. That match is set for Saturday, August 17 at 11am.
