
New coach Chris Fletcher and the Todd County Central Rebels got their first chance to see an opponent in pads Friday night. The Rebels hit the road to Houston County for the first of their two preseason scrimmages.
A trio of turnovers, two fumbles and one interception, ended up being costly for the Rebels as Houston County picked up a 28-15 scrimmage win.
There were solid efforts for the Rebels during the evening. Quarterback Eli Morgan ran the ball for two touchdowns during the varsity portion of the scrimmage. Morgan was also 12 of 17 through the air.
During a mix of varsity and JV, the Rebels added scores from Quinton Grace and Jamir Brewer.
Receivers B.J. Farlow and Marshaun Fletcher combined to catch 10 passes. Farlow had six while Fletcher added four.
The Rebels will finish out their preseason next Friday night and then open the season August 23 at home against Monroe County.
