
The Caldwell County Tiger golf team captured a three-team match at Deer Lakes Golf Course in Salem on Tuesday.
Collin Whittington was medalist with an even-par round of 36 in the nine-hole contest.
That helped Caldwell record a team score of 165, which easily outdistanced second-place Webster County’s 197. Host Crittenden County was three shots behind Webster at 200.
Landon Mitchell turned in a strong showing for Caldwell as well with a 40 and was second individually. Cole Wyatt shot 44 and Scott Cortner 45 for the Tigers.
Cade McCully led Webster with a 45. Alex Whitehead shot 47, Evan Davis 49, Micah Austin 50 and Trace Hardison 53.
Levi Quertermous had the low round for Crittenden with a 46. Cash Singleton shot 48, Mitchell Brown 50 and Bentley Rushing 56 for the Rockets.
Looking ahead to this Thursday, the 2nd Region All A Classic tournament will be played. That event begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at Drake Creek Golf Course in Ledbetter.
