Trigg County bounced back from a disappointing loss to Caldwell County on Monday with a 7-2 district win at Crittenden County Tuesday night.

The Lady Wildcats controlled most of the first half against Caldwell and nearly outshot the Lady Tigers by a 2-1 margin but lost 5-1.

The script was the same on Tuesday as Trigg County held a 21-8 shot advantage. However, the Lady Wildcats found the net seven times.

A pair of Trigg freshmen scored bookend goals. Lilly Richardson scored for the first time when she knocked home a pass from Leiah Hite 14 minutes into the contest. Trigg’s last goal came from Laci Spaulding with five minutes left.

Trigg took a 2-1 lead into halftime before putting the game away with three goals in a nine-minute stretch of the second half.

Hallie Joiner scored twice and assisted on two others. Hite had a goal and an assist while little sister Landie Hite also added a goal and a helper.

Maggie Wolfe scored a second half goal off a pass from Addison Humphries.

The win was Trigg County’s 17th straight over the Lady Rockets dating back to 2016.

The Lady Wildcats (1-1) will play at Clarksville Northwest on Thursday.
