‘When it rains it pours’ applied twice to the Christian County Lady Colonels on Tuesday in Paducah.
First, they and the Lady Tornado were greeted by a steady rain during their season opener before it let up some in the second half.
Second, Tilghman scored nine goals against a young Lady Colonel defense that saw the Lady Tornado take advantage of the play in the midfield to set up their scoring chances.
Carliah Hobson scored the lone goal for Christian County in the 34th minute, cutting the Tilghman lead in half at 2-1.
Jayda Turner made 13 saves for the Lady Colonels.
Isabela DeLaRosa, Alex Anderson, and Wells Hancock each scored twice for Tilghman, who gave Nathan Barnett his first win as the Lady Tornado coach.
The win was Tilghman’s third straight over the Lady Colonels in the series dating back to 2018.
Christian County will host Logan County on Thursday at the Stadium of Champions.
