The Murray Tigers have had a pretty decent week against teams from the 2nd Region. The Tigers picked up their second win over a school from Christian County in the opening week of the season with a 7-0 win over the Christian County Colonel Thursday night at the Stadium of Champions.
It was the second shutout of the week for Murray, after the Tigers from the west side of the lakes blanked Hopkinsville 8-0 earlier in the week.
Murray scored four times in the first 16 minutes of the match Thursday evening and never looked back from there.
The Tigers led 5-0 at the break and added two more goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half to close out the scoring for the night.
In addition to pitching the shutout, the stout Murray defense allowed Christian County just four shots on goal for the night.
On the other end, even with being under pressure all night long, Colonel keeper Mason Malone still managed to come up with 11 saves for the night.
Christian County (1-1) goes to Webster County Saturday for matches against Bullitt Central and St. Mary.
