Caldwell County Claims 4th Place at All A Classic Golf Region

Caldwell County finished in fourth place at Thursday’s Second Region All A Classic Golf Tournament in Ledbetter.

The Tigers had two golfers finish in the top 10 at Drake Creek Golf Club.

Collin Whittington shot a round of 84 and finished in a four-way tie for fifth place. He, along with Clay Calendar and Logan Wring of Livingston Central, finished tied for the final qualifying spot for the All A Classic State Tournament.

The golfers returned to the 18th hole where Whittington and Wring hit shots that landed out of bounds while Calendar played a penalty-free hole and claimed the final spot.

Landon Mitchell shot a round of 89 to tie for 10th place.

Cole Wyatt came in 16th place with a score of 93 and Scott Cortner shot a 95 to finish tied for 17th place.

University Heights Academy’s Cal Givens took medalist honors with a 5-over par 77.

Caldwell County’s team score of 361 was one behind third-place Lyon County and 14 away from second-place Livingston Central. UHA won the region title with a score of 323.
