The University Heights Academy girls’ golf team won the Second Region All A Classic golf title on Thursday with Conlee Lindsey capturing her third straight individual title.
The match at Ledbetter’s Drake Creek Golf Club was the final All A Region tourney for the senior, who has won three straight region championships and was region runner-up as an 8th grader and freshman.
Lindsey birdied her final two holes to shoot a 2-over par 74. She finished nine shots ahead of second place Lilly Perry of Lyon County.
Lindsey began her day on hole No. 11 and shot a 1-under 35 on the back nine.
Allie Sandifer shot a 91to finish in third place, with teammate Campbell Lindsey’s round of 95 good for fourth place. Caroline Tucker shot a 121 to place ninth.
The Lady Blazers repeated as All A Region champions, a trophy they have brought home to the Academy Drive trophy case four straight years and six of the last seven.
UHA’s full team qualifies for the All A Classic State Tournament on September 8 at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond. The Lady Blazers finished third at the state tourney last year, but it was played at Arlington Golf Course, which is not available this year due to Eastern Kentucky University hosting a tournament that weekend.
