On Friday at the Border Wars Jamboree at Fryar Stadium, the Fort Campbell Falcons rallied for a 14-13 scrimmage win over Kenwood, TN, before dropping the nightcap 6-0 to West Creek, TN.

Cayson Jackson gave Kenwood the lead in the opener with a touchdown run, but a missed extra-point attempt would prove costly.  The Knights made it 13-0 when Cam’ron Dowell picked off a pass and took it 32 yards for a score.

But it was all Falcons the rest of the way, starting with quarterback JaCaryous Perryman’s 60-yard run up the middle for a touchdown.

Fort Campbell trailed 13-7 after the first quarter, but after Nate Johnson recovered a Kenwood fumble on the first play of the second quarter, Perryman hit Eric Greene down the sideline for a 48-yard scoring play.  Dominic Fitzpatrick added the extra point to provide the difference.

There wasn’t much offense in the Falcons’ second game against West Creek, with Deshawn Swanson’s five-yard TD run the only points over the two quarters.

Fort Campbell opens the regular season on Friday with a visit from Northwest, TN. In last season’s opener, the Falcons defeated the Vikings 20-17.
