HCA Sweeps Past Livingston Central in Season Opener

The Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors opened the 2024 volleyball season in impressive fashion Monday evening. As one of the teams expected to take some big steps this season in the 2nd Region, the Lady Warriors came out of the gate in ‘full stride’, sweeping their way past the visiting Livingston Central Lady Cardinals.

HCA rolled in the opening set, taking a 25-11 win over the Lady Cardinals.

Livingston put up a bit more of a battle in the second, but it was still the Lady Warriors who took the 2-0 lead in the match with a 25-15 win.

Heritage then closed out their season opener by finishing the sweep with a 25-17 win in the third set.

Grace Conley got her season off to an impressive start with six kills. Mya Goodwin and Katie Cansler added five kills each for the Lady Warriors. Goodwin had 10 service aces for the night.

Makenzie McCarty led the Lady Warriors with 8 assists, while Hadlee Hayes finished with 7.

Heritage Christian (1-0) will now spend the rest of the week getting ready for this weekend’s KCAC state tournament at Whitefield Academy,
