A good start to the 2024 volleyball season Monday night for the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm. The Lady Storm hit the road to Union County and came back with a tough five-set win over the Bravettes.
The Bravettes came roaring out at the beginning of the match, taking the opening set 25-14. Central battled back in the second, evening things up with a 25-22 win.
It was back to Union County in the third set, with the Bravettes taking a close 25-23 decision and a 2-1 lead in the match.
With their backs against the wall, the Lady Storm came right back in the fourth and took a 25-18 win and tying the match at two sets each.
The 5th set was no different than the rest of the night, as the Lady Storm found their way to a 15-12 win and closed out the match 3-2.
Aalycia Stringer was a force for Hopkins County Central. She finished the night with 15 kills, 2 aces, 2 digs, and 1 block. Mallory Wagoner also had a big night at the net for the Lady Storm, finishing with 10 kills. She also had three digs.
Izzy Gunn was ‘the’ table-setter for her team, ending the match with 28 assists. She also had four kills for the Lady Storm.
Hopkins County Central (1-0) gets right back to action Tuesday night in their home opener as the Lady Storm host McLean County.
