
After going 8-12 last season, the Webster County Lady Trojans look poised on opening night to make a move up in terms of 2nd Region volleyball status. The Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons made the trip up to Dixon Monday night in the season opener for both teams and came away with a season opening loss.
Webster County took the straight set win 3-0, giving the Lady Trojans their first on-the-court win over the Lady Maroons in nearly five years.
Webster County picked up a forfeit win in the COVID-19 impacted season of 2021. Prior to that, the only win for the Lady Trojans over the Lady Maroons in the last 15 years came back on September 17, 2019 when Webster County picked up a win three sets to one.
Madisonville-North Hopkins (0-1) is back in action Tuesday night hosting Hopkinsville.
