You might say the Christian County Colonels’ defense is clicking here early in the 2024 soccer season. The Colonels picked up their 3rd straight shutout of the season and fourth win overall as they blanked Trigg County Tuesday night at the Trigg County Recreation Complex.
While the defense was honed in early, it took the Christian County offense just a little while to get going. The Colonels broke through at 32:17 when Wyatt Fleming scored on a deflection to put Christian County up 1-0, with that lead still being in place at the half.
Christian County then got the attack rolling in the second half. Leland Creamer scored a header off an assist from Alex Hale to extend the lead to 2-0 at 51:04.

Hale assisted again on the next goal. This time he sent the ball over to Christian Lopez, who found the back of the net to make it 3-0 at 57:57. Trigg County aided the Colonel cause with an own goal at 61:43 that extended the lead to 4-0.
Christian County closed out the scoring in the 70th minute when Christian Lopez scored off the assist from Jensen Nolte to get to 5-0.
Christian County moves to 4-1 on the season with the win. The Colonels host Fort Campbell next Tuesday at the Stadium of Champions.
Trigg County drops to 0-2-1 with the loss. The Wildcats are back in action Thursday when they host Ohio County.
