
After opening the season against regional contender Henderson County, the Christian County Lady Colonels hit the road for another tough early season match Tuesday night, taking on the Crittenden County Lady Rockets. This one was a battle throughout with the Lady Rockets ending up with the four-set win.
Crittenden County got off to a good start, winning the opening set 25-17.
The Lady Colonels battled back in the second, taking a 25-21 win to even the match at one set each.
The Lady Rockets controlled most of the third set, winning 25-16 and taking a 2-1 lead in the match.
The fourth set was a tight battle, coming down to the final points. But, in the end, Crittenden County found the way to close out the match with a 25-23 win.
Skylar Kirby had a big night for Christian County attacking at the net finishing with 13 kills. She also had five service aces. Kaidence Atwell and Ashlea Russell had four kills each. Atwell finished with three aces.
Russell had another big night setting up the rest of her team with 22 assists.
Christian County (0-2) goes back on the road Tuesday to take on Fort Campbell in an 8th District contest.
