UHA Wins Big Again in 2nd Region All A Classic

For the second straight night, University Heights Academy made quick work of its opponent in the boys’ 2nd Region All A Classic soccer tournament.

After routing Lyon County 8-0 in 40 minutes on Monday, the Blazers again needed just one half to dismiss Heritage Christian Academy 8-0 in Tuesday’s semifinals in Eddyville.

UHA (3-1) next faces Fort Campbell (1-1-1) in the championship match on Thursday. The Falcons will host that contest.

Hayden Hunt scored three goals and Cal Givens found the net twice in the semifinal win over HCA.

UHA outshot the Warriors 31-2 and scored all eight of its goals in the first 28 minutes.
Logan Miller set up the first goal of the night in the 5th minute, setting up Griffin McCoy.

Hunt’s first goal came in the 9th minute when he took a through ball from Lincoln Hauret and scored from point-blank range.

Hunt scored again in the 10th minute, this time with help from Miller, to make it 3-0.

Givens netted his first goal in the 18th minute when he cleaned up in front of the net following a corner kick.

A minute later, Hauret got a goal of his own to extend the margin to 5-0.

Givens’ second goal came on a blast from outside the box in the 21st minute.

Cadence Gibson made it 7-0 when he scored from in front of the net in the 23rd minute.

Hunt recorded his third goal in the 28th minute with help from McCoy to push the lead to 8-0.

Caden Gresham had 11 saves for Heritage Christian.

Hayden Fitzsimmons had to make just one save for University Heights in the shutout.

The Blazers will be going for their ninth-straight All A regional title on Thursday.
