Madisonville-North Hopkins bagged four goals in each half on Thursday to even its record at 2-2 with an 8-1 victory over visiting Hopkinsville.  The win is the Lady Maroons’ seventh straight in the series with the Lady Tigers.

Madisonville opened the scoring after ten minutes when Anna Sampson found the back of the net, followed six minutes later by Madison Hill’s first of a three-goal night.  Kailey Barber made it 3-0 with 19 minutes played, and McKinley Wilson extended the lead before Hopkinsville pulled a goal back on Kaydon Coats’ strike off an assist from Rebecca Wood.

Hill restored the four-goal advantage with less than two minutes played in the second half and the Lady Maroons cruised the rest of the way.  Macy Wright added a goal before Hill completed her hat trick to stretch the lead to 7-1.  Wilson scored her second with 21 minutes left to play to round out the scoring.

Jaleigha McFarland made 18 saves in goal for Hopkinsville.  The Lady Tigers slipped to 3-2 ahead of a visit from Mayfield on Monday.

Up next for Madisonville is a matchup with Lyon County on Saturday.  The Lady Maroons have won all 11 previous meetings between the teams, including a pair of victories last season.
