The Lyon County Lyons will look for another chance to get their first win of the season next week. The Lyon scored their first goal of the season Thursday evening but it was not enough as Muhlenberg County picked up a 5-1 win over their home pitch.
The match was 0-0 until about the middle of 1st half. Muhlenberg scored first to take the 1-0 lead.
The Lyons came back and Kveon Cain got a breakaway for the Lyons to even the match up at 1-1 going into the half. In the second half, Muhlenberg pulled away with four more goals to take then win.
Will Dunning had 19 saves in goal on the night for the Lyons.
Lincoln Drury was one of four players to score for Muhlenberg County. He finished the night with two goals for the Mustangs.
The Lyons continue to look for a way to create pressure with their offensive attack. In addition to the score, the Lyons did force Muhlenberg County goalie Carter Knowles into making four saves in the match.
So far this season it has been feast or famine for the Mustangs. In two wins they have scored five goals each and in two losses they have been shut out.
Lyon County drops to 0-3 with the loss. The Lyons are back in action Tuesday evening when they host Caldwell County at Lee S. Jones Park
