The Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors saw their bid for a KCAC state volleyball championship come to an earlier end than they had hoped for Saturday. The Lady Warriors were knocked out in the quarterfinal round of bracket play Saturday afternoon by Whitefield Academy in straight sets.
The day began for the Lady Warriors with a pool play match against Cornerstone Christian. HCA picked up the win in straight sets 25-16 and 25-20.
Saturday’s second match for the Lady Warriors found them taking on Community Christian. This one was a battle that came down to the final points. HCA won a tough opening set 25-22. Community Christian came storming back to take the second set 25-11. In the winner-take-all third set, it was tight battle to the final point with Community Christian taking a 17-15 win to hand the Lady Warriors their first loss of the season.

With the results of pool play, HCA was the second seed out of their pool, which matched up the Lady Warriors against Frankfort Christian. This one was all Lady Warriors from the very beginning as Heritage took the straight-set win 25-5 and 25-13.
That win moved the Lady Warriors into the quarterfinals against Whitefield Academy. The Lady Wildcats entered the match having not lost a set in the tournament. HCA was also dealt a setback in the opening set of the match as their leader in assists, Hadlee Hayes, injured an ankle with the match tied at 22-22, and was out for the rest of the match.
Whitefield would go on to take the opening set 26-24 and then the Lady Wildcats closed out the match by taking the second set 25-20.
Heritage Christian (4-2) gets back to action Tuesday evening when the Lady Warriors host Hopkinsville in an 8th District contest.
