A young UHA Lady Blazer volleyball team faced some tough competition over the weekend. The Lady Blazers were in Owensboro for the annual Apollo Summer Slam.
University Heights began play on Friday night with a match against Whitesville Trinity. Trinity came away with the straight-set win 25-19, 25-11.
The Lady Blazers rebounded Friday night with a 3-set win win over Clarksville Northeast, (25-8, 15-25, 15-3.
Action resumed Saturday morning, with the Lady Blazers taking on Green County. The Lady Dragons took a 2-0 set win, 25-16, 25-9.
Up next was a match against the Lady Chargers from Bullitt East. Bullitt East came out with a straight set win, 25-13, 25-15.
UHA squared off next against Edmonson County. The Lady Blazers came away with a set, but it would ultimately be the Lady Wildcats who took the two set to one win, 19-25, 25-14, 15-3.
The Lady Blazers wrapped up play Saturday afternoon in the bronze bracket with a match against Meade County. The Lady Green Wave picked up the win in straight sets, 26-19, 25-24.
UHA is set to return to action Thursday evening when the Lady Blazers host Crittenden County in Blazer Gym.
