
A full weekend of action for the Madisoville-North Hopkins volleyball team. The Lady Maroons were in Owensboro for the annual Apollo Summer Slam.
The Lady Maroons opened play Friday evening against Greenwood. The Lady Gators came away with a 25-7, 25-6 win. Mackenzie Stoltz finished with 2 kills and 6 digs.
Up next was a match against Edmonson County, and while the Lady Wildcats came away with a straight-set win, they had to battle past the Lady Maroons, 26-24 and 25-19. Leah Moody had a big match for Madisonville-North Hopkins with 2 kills, 4 aces, and 5 digs.
The Lady Maroons got back to the court Saturday morning against 2nd Region foe Henderson County. The Lady Colonels came away with a 25-8, 25-18 win. Another big match for Mackenzie Stoltz with 4 kills and 4 digs.
The Lady Maroons picked up their first win of the season in the next match, as the rolled past McLean County 25-7. 25-18. A big performance from Keira Williams, who ended the match with 1 kill, 2 aces, 9 digs, and 16 assists.
Madisonville-North Hopkins nearly won a second straight in the next match, but would end up falling to Todd County Central in a copper bracket match 25-19, 16-25, and 12-15.
The Lady Maroons wrapped up their weekend in Owensboro with a match against Daviess County. The Lady Panthers took a straight set win 25-18 and 25-2.
Madisonville-North Hopkins is set to return to action Monday evening when they host Christian County.
