Four goals in each half sent the visiting Franklin-Simpson girls’ soccer team to an 8-0 victory over Todd County Central on Tuesday, handing the Lady Rebels a fourth straight defeat and second in district play.
The Lady Wildcats opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Lily Tyree found the back of the net after a loose ball in the box.
MacKenzie Davidson made it 2-0 on a shot from close range, and Franklin-Simpson was awarded a penalty kick four minutes later after a foul in the box.
Todd Central goalkeeper Jazmine Russell made the save, but the Lady Wildcats pushed the lead to 3-0 just three minutes later when Tyree added her second on a 25-yard free kick that skipped off Russell’s gloves and into the net.
With just over five minutes until the halftime break, Addy McKinney added the fourth goal when she was on hand to tap in after Russell saved a shot from distance.
The Lady Wildcats added four more goals after the break to improve to 5-2, 2-0 in district play.
The Lady Rebels will travel to Fort Campbell on Thursday to face the 2-2 Lady Falcons.
