
For the second consecutive night, the Christian County Colonels dropped a tough decision on the volleyball court. Tuesday night, the Lady Colonels got off to a promising start winning the first set only to see the Graves County Lady Eagles coming flying back to take a four-set win.
The loss comes just 24 hours after the Lady Colonels lost a heartbreaking five-set match on the road at Madisonville-North Hopkins.
Christian County got the night off to a strong start. Led by a big effort from Skylar Kirby, the Lady Colonels took the opening set 25-19 to go up one set to none.
The Lady Eagles got their footing in the second set and came fighting back. They jumped out to a quick 8-1 lead and never looked back. Graves County would take the set 25-16 to even things up at a set apiece.
In the third, Graves County took a 13-7 lead midway into the set. The Lady Eagles extended tha to 19-11 before finally closing the set out 25-15 to go up 2-1 in the match.
Graves County would close out the match strong. The Lady Eagles opened with a 7-3 lead. The lead grew to 22-14 and then the Lady Eagles scored the next three points to take the set 25-14 and the match three sets to one.
