
The Henderson County Lady Colonels came south looking to put an end to their two-match losing streak as they took on the ‘southern’ Lady Colonels from Christian County. Henderson got four goals from Layla Gugel and scored seven first-half goals on their way to a 9-1 win.
After Henderson took a 7-0 halftime lead, the Lady Colonels closed out the match on the eight-goal rule after outscoring Christian County 2-1 in the second half.
Christian County’s goal came from Jayleigh Campbell, who scored off an assist from Carlie Hobson.
The southern Lady Colonels got 10 saves from goalie Neyziah Bell.
In addition to the four goals from Layla Gugel, Henderson got two goals from Taylor Dunn. Three other Henderson players added one goal each.
Marley Collins added three assists for Henderson County. Taylor Dunn had two more.
The loss drops Christian County to 0-6-1 for the season. They will get back to action Thursday night on the road at Webster County.
